The Ranger Idoctrination Program (RIP) Phases I-IV. (Note - there is no longer 'Ranger Basic', it is now known as 'RIP Phase I')

Completion of Ranger Indoctrination Program, Phase One, will award members the TF Ranger tab. Members will be considered basic-level members of Task Force Ranger. Completion of RIP Phases 2-4, PLUS obtaining Command Rank One (CR1) and attending BTI Phase II (Advanced Training) will award members the Infantry Badge, and grant them full-level membership as a tabbed and qualified Ranger in TF Ranger. Members may then go on to become Master Rangers and beyond.


Phase I:

Task: Conduct Black Widow Company Ranger Indoctrination Phase I (AKA Ranger Basic).

Conditions: Given an REK, Rexo Armor, EMP grenades, Ranger Certs, Teamspeak, and hostile territory.

Standards: Conduct sustained offensive/defensive operations against a hostile held tower, base, or target of opportunity.

Orientation Statement: History dictates that if you call yourself a "Ranger" you must be elite... In the Black Widow Company a Ranger must be a sound leader/tactician/strategist, not just an above average soldier.... You must be able to follow as well as lead... This course is designed to test your heart, your desire, your motivation... Everything in PlanetSide is a given; we know you can shoot, kill and zerg with the best of them.... The question remains, do you want to be a "Ranger" ? Do you want to live forever...?

Prerequisite: BTI Phase I (Basic)

Required Certification: Rexo Armor, Medium Assault, Heavy Assault, Special Assault/Anti-Vehicle (optional), ATV

Performance Measures:

A - The Squad
1. Uniformity.
2. Know your role/Assign roles.
3. Transportation.
4. Orders: Standing orders, orders on contact, orders after contact.
5. Consolidation.

B - The Teams
1. Two man.
2. Three man.
3. Five man.

C - The Missions
1. Hack and Hold.
2. Generator Drop and Hold.
3. Generator Defense.
4. Tower Offense/Defense.
5. Spawn Room Ambush.
6. Base Drains.
7. Force on Force.
8. Targets of Opportunity.

D - Intelligence
1. Choose your battles for success.
2. Some missions are one way trips.
3. Decide how best to help the Terran Republic.
4. Use Tells to enemy for misinformation.


Phase II:

Task: Conduct Ranger Indoctrination Program Phase II - Close Quarters Combat.

Conditions: Given an REK, Command Uplink Device(CUD)(If applicable), Medical Applicator(If applicable), Nano Dispenser(If applicable), rexo armor, ranger certs, and a hostile environment.

Standards: Successfully breach, penetrate, clear, secure, consolidate in or around a base, tower, complex, or target of opportunity that is held and/or contested by hostile forces and/or hostile influence.

Orientation Statement: It is called the "bread & butter" of the Rangers by the Legendary Master Ranger Kureal.... Close Quarters Combat.... TDC is known for there armor, DarkSkyes is known for there Max Crashes, KAAOS was known for it's Air Attack.... BWC is known for "Close Quarters Combat"... We will not sit idlely by padding our stats.... We will assualt with extreme prejudice or die to the man with our effort.... Close Quarters Combat a coordinated "Dance of Death"... Let's git er done....!

Prerequisite: Ranger RIP Phase I (it is presumed members proceeding to RIP Phase II have already completed BTI Phase One (Basic)

Required Certification: Rexo Armor, Medium Assault, Heavy Assault, Special Assault/Anti-Vehicle (optional), ATV

Performance Measures:

A - Organize
1. The Squad Leader will assign his Chain of Command.
2. The Squad Leader will assign his Medic, Hacker, Engineer, Special Assault, Anti-Vehicle, and Gunslingers.
3. The Squad Leader will arrange transportation for all Rangers.

B - The Breach
1. EMP/Hack/AV (spits).
2. The Point Man (PS & DL).
3. The Gunslingers.
4. AV for Maxes(Strikers for VS/Deci for NC).
5. Contested/Uncontested - Determines drop at RP or target.
6. Pathfinder - CUD, AV, SA-EMP.... (coming soon)

C - Penetration
1. Determine point of penetration.
2. Penetrate, set security/heal.
3. Ignore other TR til Rangers are up.
4. Retrieve ammo/supplies from the dead.
5. Actions on contact.
6. If stalled, establish foothold with defense-Don't give up ground(only if TR Zerg contested).

D - Clearing
1. Sweep with DL & EMP's if not contested.
2. Cover entry/exit.
3. Check your rear (DL).
4. If contested Special Assault take cover and spam; Gunslingers assault.
5. Regroup.

E - Secure
1. Take up defendable positions.
2. Rearm-Regroup.
3. Send out scouts if available(known BWC killwhores).

F - Consolidation (Upon victory or defeat)
1. Rearm, regroup, rethink.
2. Determine if victory is obtainable.
3. Lead the Way.


Phase III:

Task: Conduct Task Force Ranger Phase III training, Air Assault.

Conditions: Given a REK, Rexo Armor, EMP grenades, Ranger Certs, Teamspeak, and hostile territory.

Standards: Conduct offensive airborne operations from a Galaxy transport against hostile installations.

Prerequisite: Ranger RIP Phase I

Required Certification: Rexo Armor, Medium Assault, Heavy Assault, Special Assault/Anti-Vehicle (optional), ATV

- Clear LZ
- Designate gunners (faster load)
- Designation of roles
B. Load up
- 7 second rule
- No bailing (shot down)
C. Drop preparations
- EMP
- Two (2) Doormen (each side)
D. Drop
- Pilot calls drop
- Steering (movement keys)
- Drop discipline
E. Indoor Form up
- Blind spot (tower)
- 7 second rule
- DL
- Third person (blind spot)
F. Movement
- Backs to wall (tower)
- Fireteam separation/dispersion
G. Post-hack (tower)
H. Post-hack (base)


Phase IV:

Task: Conduct Task Force Ranger Phase IV training, Ground Assault.

Conditions: Given a REK, Rexo armor, EMP grenades, Ranger Certs, Teamspeak and hostile territory.

Standards: Conduct offensive ground assault operations against hostile installations using the Marauder assault buggy.

Prerequisite: Ranger RIP Phase I

Required Certification: Rexo Armor, Medium Assault, Heavy Assault, Special Assault/Anti-Vehicle (optional), ATV
